Courtesy call by Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board

The Hon. Chief Justice hosted the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board, led by the Chairman Issack Hassan to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between our institutions for justice, accountability, and the rule of law. Effective justice delivery demands collaboration among key justice sector bodies.

We commended IPOA for its vital role in promoting police accountability, professionalism, and human rights. IPOA is essential in ensuring law enforcement operates within constitutional and legal boundaries by investigating police misconduct, addressing extrajudicial killings, and overseeing the use of force. I also emphasised that the Judiciary remains dedicated to bolster public confidence in the justice system, and ensure that all cases presented before our courts are adjudicated fairly and promptly.
