ICT Advisor
Mr. King’oo is a highly skilled and well-seasoned ICT professional with over 15 years of management experience, ICT governance, ICT advisory, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of systems and infrastructure services that facilitate corporate growth. He holds a master’s degree in Information Systems (2015) from the University of Nairobi, Kenya; Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2009) from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He is currently pursuing PhD in Information Technology at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya. He is professionally certified in database administration (Oracle Certified Associate), Computer Networking (CISCO Certification), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA®), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Certified HCIA –Cloud Computing (Huawei), Huawei Certified Academy Instructor with an array of other ICT specialized training. He has a proven ability to create and deliver solutions tied to business growth, organizational development and systems/network optimization. He is also an experienced developer with extensive experience designing, coding, testing and supporting next-generation database solutions in Oracle enterprise, MySQL and SQL Server environments.
To advise the Chief Justice about business and ICT solutions and/or interventions and developments that Judiciary can adopt for effective service delivery.
- Providing strategic information and communication technology analysis and/or advice to the Chief Justice;
- Partner with the directorate of ICT to explore innovative solutions, such as mobile and ICT-based solutions, to expand outreach and promote access to justice via technology.
- Advising the Hon. Chief Justice on ICT-enabled industry collaborations that promote the ICT infrastructure’s growth and hence service delivery in the Judiciary.
- Reviewing and assessing the extent to which the current ICT infrastructure and applications in use within the Judiciary are aligned to the Chief Justice’s policy priorities, strategic direction and goals;
- Undertaking in-depth analysis and review of the Judiciary ICT and providing the Chief Justice with information on the same as required;
- Advising the Hon. Chief Justice on the selection of appropriate platforms for interventions such as an improved Court Management Systems, Enterprise Resource Program and continuing online education solutions for Judicial Officers and staff; and
- Facilitating Performance Management, mentoring, guidance and counselling of staff.
