Given the current economic climate and rising cost of living, she stressed that arbitration must be cost-effective, timely, and accessible to maintain its status as a preferred dispute resolution mechanism. Excessive delays and high costs deter businesses, particularly SMEs. To remain effective, arbitrators must prioritize efficiency while balancing fairness with affordability.
