9th CIARB Kenya International Arbitration Conference

9th CIARB Kenya International Arbitration Conference

The Hon Chief Justice delivered a Keynote Address at the 9th CIARB Kenya International Arbitration Conference, where I emphasized the significance of this forum as a hub for dialogue and collaboration on the evolving role of arbitration in addressing global challenges. #Arbitration #Dialogue She highlighted the need for arbitration to adapt to climate change, digital transformation, and economic shifts to ensure a sustainable future. Sustainability now influences every sector, including law and dispute resolution.

Given the current economic climate and rising cost of living, she stressed that arbitration must be cost-effective, timely, and accessible to maintain its status as a preferred dispute resolution mechanism. Excessive delays and high costs deter businesses, particularly SMEs. To remain effective, arbitrators must prioritize efficiency while balancing fairness with affordability.
