Finance Advisor-Kevin Kiarie Ngari
Kevin Kiarie Ngari, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), holds a Master’s of Science in Finance and Investment from the Kenya Methodist University, a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from Kenyatta University and is pursuing a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA) certification from KASNEB.
He joined the Judiciary in 2013 as a Senior Accountant and has worked in the Accounts directorate at the head office, Garissa Law Courts and is currently deployed in the Office of The Chief Justice. Previously Mr. Ngari served as a Financial Accountant at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for four years and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) for two years.
Mr. Ngari has served in the Board of directors of Umoja Wendani Sacco for five years in various positions such as Credit member, Treasurer, Supervisory member, Supervisory Secretary and currently as Chairman Supervisory committee. He serves in the Board of Trustees for the Judiciary Service Staff Superannuation Scheme (JSSSS) and is also the Director Finance and Strategy at KituKuu Interiors.
He is passionate about Public Sector Finance, loves to play and watch football, he loves reading and writing and is regularly engaged in mentorship programs for boys and young men.
Roles and Duties of Finance Advisor, OCJ
The roles and duties of the finance advisor include:
- Manage the financial operations of the Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) including preparation and implementation of the OCJ’s Annual Budget, Work Plans and Procurement Plans.
- Act as the liaison person between the Office of the Chief Justice and the Directorates, Units and other offices of the Judiciary on all financial matters.
- Prepare periodic briefs to the Chief Justice on financial matters of the Judiciary that will ensure prudent and efficient management of resources.
- Participate as a representative of the Office of the Chief Justice in the Judiciary Budget preparation process in liaison with the Budget Management Unit.
- Participate in the Judiciary’s resource mobilization forums and coordinate relationships with development partners in liaison with the office of the Chief Registrar.
- Facilitate financial audits and implementation of recommendations in the Office of the Chief Justice.
