Chief of Staff
Rose Wachuka Macharia was admitted to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in the year 2011. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University. She has served in senior Government positions for the last 10 years, as an Associate Constitutional and Public Interest Litigation Counsel at the Firm of Waweru Gatonye Advocates, as a senior Foreign Service Advisor at the Ministry of Education and as Chief of Staff in the Ministries of Education and Sports, Culture and Heritage. In 2021, Rose was appointed as Chief of Staff to the Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, Hon. Justice Martha K. Koome, EGH.
The roles of the Chief of Staff include directing workflows, communication, and performance management, and ensuring that the Chief Justice’s priorities are understood, planned for, and realised.
Others include taking on a political advisory role to enhance cooperation and partnership between the office of the Chief Justice, the Presidency, and the Office of Speakers of the National Assembly and Senate.
